Tigers ‘welcome back champ’ Shakib

Bangladesh cricketers including the likes of Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah Riyad and many others took to social media to welcome Shakib Al Hasan as the premier all-rounder once again became available from today for playing cricket -- both at the domestic and international level for Bangladesh.

The 33-year-old returned from a ban that he was handed by the International Cricket Council (ICC) exactly a year ago on this day for failing to report corrupt approaches from an alleged bookie.

Welcome back Champ!!

"Welcome back champ," wrote Mahmudullah on his official Facebook page with a picture of him with the southpaw.

Mushfiqur left a more touching message to cherish the return of the "champ".

"We started our careers together as teenagers and never had to look back. Last year it came as a big shock to hear we would not be sharing the dressing room for a year.

"We have shared great memories, cherished all the good times and stood by each other during tough times. I am so glad that this one year is over and we will get to take on the field together. You have always come back as a champ and I cannot wait to share more match-winning partnerships with you and bring joy for our nation In Sha Allah," Mushfiqur wrote.

Meanwhile, much like most of the Bangladesh fans, wicketkeeper-batsman Nurul Hasan also can't wait to see Shakib "roar like a Tiger" once again on the cricket field.

"Welcome back to cricket field Shakib Al Hasan Bhai. Can't wait to see you roar like a Tiger," wrote Nurul.

The likes of Soumya Sarkar, Abu Jayed, Nayeem Hasan, Taskin Ahmed, Imrul Kayes and a number of other cricketers also welcomed Shakib through their social media posts.

Shakib, who is now in the United States with his family, is supposed to return to the country on November 4 and is expected to return to cricket through the BCB-arranged T20 tournament next month.
