Regional superpower India retained the SAFF Women's Championship title, beating hosts Nepal 3-1 in the final of the fourth edition at the Sahid Rangsala in Biratnagar today.
Dalima Chibber gave India the lead from a free-kick in the 26th minute, but Nepal's prolific striker Sabitra Bhandari equalised with a header seven minutes later.
However, Grace Dangwei reinstated India's advantage, taking advantage of the opposition's defensive lapse in the 63rd minute before substitute Anju Tamang wrapped up the victory in the 68th minute.
This is India's fifth title in five editions of the regional football meet, and the fourth time they beat Nepal in the final. In the last edition, they had beaten Bangladesh 3-1 in the final in Siliguri three years ago.
