Ruman Sana beat China’s Shi Zenqi in the individual recurve men’s event final to clinch gold in the Asia Cup Archery: Stage 3 at Clark City, Phillipines today.
Having drawn the first set 28-28, he lost the second set 29-26 but turned things around in the third set winning by a margin of 27-25.
Ruman took the lead when he won the fourth set 28-25 before winning a tight fifth set 28-27 to clinch the final.
It was the 24-year-old’s second major medal this year following his bronze at the Hyundai World Archery Championships in Hertogenbosch earlier this summer.
Bangladesh won silver in the recurve men’s team event while in the recurve mixed event, Sana and Beauty Roy got bronze.
